Smart Lady Bear is an idea for a warm, interactive bear toy paired with a parent app for co‑creating stories — a screen‑free alternative that turns technology into a shared family experience rather than a source of distance.

The concept is shaped by interviews with more than 100 families, testing of existing smart toys, feedback from kindergartens and schools, and consultations with 20 pedagogues.

Children spend more and more time passively consuming screens, which experts link to shorter attention spans, delayed speech and less creativity — while traditional toys quickly become boring.

Parents feel guilty about the shrinking quality time with their children and struggle to find technology that connects the family instead of pulling it apart.

Solution

A charming interactive bear that tells personalised stories and plays music, with a parent app for co‑creating stories and family activities together.

Over time the bear is envisioned as a modular companion that grows with the child — with ideas such as AI‑personalised stories, playful smart accessories and a family hub for recording and sharing stories across generations.
